We are looking for a Senior or Principal Engineer within layout and/or material handling to join our Renewables Engineering team at Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on large-scale projects, contributing to layout and material handling engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of renewables through innovative engineering solutions with Aibel.

About the position

As part of Aibel's team, you will work on the design and optimization of layouts, assess material handling requirements, and ensure that project standards are met. You will collaborate closely with other teams to contribute to project studies, bids, and both FEED and detailed engineering phases.

Responsibilities and tasks include
  • Lead or contribute to the layout design of offshore substations (HVDC) using E3D
  • Collaborate on the material handling design, including volume restrictions, transport routes, laydown areas, and equipment handling
  • Perform E3D modeling and drawing production
  • Take responsibility for layout activities in large EPC projects, from studies through to tenders and detailed engineering
  • Work closely with teams across disciplines to ensure cohesive design and material handling strategies
  • Plan and assess lifting requirements, including the selection of cranes, winches, and other handling equipment
  • Ensure working environment considerations, focusing on optimal access and efficient use of lifting appliances

Qualifications
  • Master`s og bachelor`s degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience in material handling activities and platform crane operations
  • Layout experience for HVDC or AC platforms, including involvement in large EPC projects
  • Strong background in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects
  • Experience with HV equipment is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of layout design experience using PDMS/E3D

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is an advantage
