Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Health & Safety Specialist. This role, based in Sweden, will cover the Nordic and Baltic zones, requiring approximately 50% travel to support complex projects across the region.



Your mission:

To be a leader in health and safety for customer projects, a unified safety culture across complex sites, best practices, and ensuring legal compliance. You will establish standardized health and safety practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactively support project managers and teams in implementing these practices. This role is instrumental in guiding the organization toward higher safety standards, acting as a partner to project managers to increase safety awareness and behaviours across our project ecosystem.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Create and implement comprehensive health and safety plans that address specific project risks and align with company and customer requirements
  • Validate Risk Assessment Method Statements
  • Perform regular site audits and inspections, reporting findings, identifying improvement areas, and innovating solutions to elevate safety practices.
  • Represents Schneider Electric in customer interactions on Safety matters
  • Authority to alert project managers and stop work to ensure compliance with safety standards and protect all Schneider Electric personnel on-site
  • Develop, Implement, and Standardize H&S Practices ensuring compliance and consistency across complex projects.
  • Set the standard for health and safety across projects, influencing both our contractors and employees on-site to maintain the highest safety standards.
  • Closely advise project managers and site managers to enhance safety practices, leading training sessions, toolbox talks, and site inductions as needed to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Support and bring project teams to actively identify, analyse, and learn from safety opportunities and near misses.
  • Along with the project managers, assess root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure that key lessons are retained and applied across future projects, building a culture of continuous safety improvement.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to address health and safety concerns, ensuring alignment on safety practices and promoting a smooth, safe project delivery.

About you:

Essential
  • Health and Safety Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of health and safety practices, especially in electrical safety and work-at-height environments. Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar role in a Construction or Services organization
  • Understanding of regional safety regulations across the Nordic and Baltic zones, with the ability to ensure compliance within diverse project sites.
  • Strong Communication and Leadership Abilities
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Swedish or another Scandinavian language is highly valued.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently (approximately 50%) across the Nordic and Baltic zone, supporting multiple projects.


Desirable
  • Familiarity with the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems, such as UPS systems, batteries, and power cabinets, with the ability to identify associated risks.
  • Collaborative and Proactive Mindset
  • Knowledge of behaviour-based safety principles and experience in promoting safe behaviours on-site.
  • Adaptability and Cultural Awareness
