Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our agile development team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, performance, and stability of our applications. Your main focus will be on designing and conducting automated and manual tests, enhancing test automation frameworks, and working closely with developers, product owners, and architects to streamline our testing processes. You will be working on MyControlSystem (MCS) and Cyber Security Workplace (CSWP), both service-oriented products within the process automation sector. These solutions enable customers to visualize and analyze control system performance, software integrity, security, and lifecycle status. Your main responsibilities include: • Test Assurance: Ensure comprehensive testing of applications, focusing on functionality, performance, and stability. • Test Planning & Execution: Collaborate with product owners and architects to create test plans, executing both manual and automated tests for frontend and backend features. • Test Automation Growth: Balance manual and automated testing (50:50) initially, with a focus on expanding automation to reduce manual efforts. • Defect Reporting & Analysis: Investigate and document defects, providing actionable insights and collaborating with development teams for high-quality implementations.

Qualifications for the role

• Professional experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Bachelor's degree is a plus) as well as proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C# for developing automated tests and frameworks.
• Experience in test automation and various types of testing, including end-to-end, UI, and functional tests (e.g., with Playwright, Selenium) as well as regression and acceptance tests.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps processes, particularly in integrating automated tests into the pipeline.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills for analyzing test results and efficiently resolving issues.
• Negotiation-level communication skills in both German and English, both written and spoken
