General Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sr. Generator Technician to join our team. As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of backup power generators for residential and commercial clients. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Install new standby generators at customer locations, ensuring they meet all safety codes, manufacturer specifications, and quality standards.
• Electrical & Plumbing Work: Connect the generator to electrical systems, fuel lines, and exhaust systems; troubleshoot and address electrical or plumbing issues as necessary.
• Testing: Perform system tests and troubleshoot to ensure proper generator operation.
• Maintenance: Provide routine maintenance and repairs on generators to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
• Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining installation procedures, safety tips, and maintenance needs to clients.
• Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding generator installation and operation.
• Documentation: Complete detailed service records and install reports for each job, ensuring accurate documentation of services performed.

Specific Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in generator installation or a related field (electrical, HVAC, etc.) preferred.

• Certifications: OSHA certification, electrical or mechanical trade certifications, or a relevant technical degree is a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in varying weather conditions, and perform tasks that require physical labor.
• Driver's License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; some travel may be required.
• Attention to Detail: Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific generator brands (e.g., Kohler, Generac, Cummins, etc.)
• Background in electrical or mechanical trades.
• Basic knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices.
