About The Role

Role summary:

The HSE Advisor (Projects) is required to provide, challenge and support assurance with hands on safety management on all project work in order to achieve objectives and performance targets.

This is a nightshift working role at a COMAH site for a 12 to 20 week shutdown. Approx 5 pm to 3AM Monday to Saturday (10hours per day, 6 days per week).

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure clients specific safety tools and initiatives are shared, understood and complied with
  • Provide HS&E related information and advice on best practise as required
  • Assist with development of HSE Plans and Interface documents
  • Ensure incidents are accurately reported
  • Conduct Incident investigation as required
  • Produce HSE statistical performance reports
  • Review and feedback on work pack risk assessments and manual handling assessments
  • Participate in Project Risk and Lesson Learned sessions
  • Develop CoSHH Assessments as required
  • Feed into the preparation of material for offshore onboarding sessions
  • Collate and verify Offshore/Site Inspections and Self-Verifications
  • Verify HAVS Reports in line with Tool trigger times
  • Participate in offshore/site calls as required
  • Chair site safety meeting with appropriate material, as required
  • Conduct site inductions, as required
  • Oversee CoSHH management, development of CoSHH Assessments and interface with site HSE as required
  • Carry out audits/inspections to ensure compliance with processes / legislation
  • Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
  • Adhere to the Company Integrated Management System
  • Comply with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
  • Adhere to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems

About You

Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Internal Auditor (IRCA) Certificate to one of the recognised standards
  • Educated to standard grade level or equivalent, with a pass in Maths and English

Experience / competence:
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining environmental, quality assurance and health and safety systems (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of QHSE Legislation, Codes and Standards
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting Audits and Investigations
  • Demonstrable experience of working within, and contributing towards, a certified Management System (preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience of Risk Management and Incident Investigation
  • Competent in the use of MS Office Applications
  • Excellent written and spoken English
