We're seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner to help Nexus achieve excellence in safety and sustainability by embedding our Integrated Management System (IMS) and driving continuous improvement across the organisation; working closely with the OH&S and Environment & Sustainability Managers, you'll lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, champion fire and behavioural safety programmes, and deliver key initiatives in areas such as Working at Height, PUWER, COSHH, and Permit-to-Work systems-an influential role where you'll shape safety culture, ensure compliance, and make a tangible impact on Nexus's reputation for operational excellence.

Typical Day

  • Support managers and stakeholders by offering practical Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental advice
  • Assist with incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to the management of our fire arrangements, fatigue monitoring, and behavioural safety initiatives
  • Carry out on-site assurance checks, review safety documentation, and analyse our performance data to prepare accurate reports for QHSSE forums
  • Development of new systems and procedures to support improvements to Health and Safety across Nexus

About You

  • You hold a recognised health and safety qualification and have a thorough understanding of legislation and best practice
  • You can communicate with all levels of people with a customer focus approach
  • You thrive working in a fast-paced varied environment
  • You understand Data Protection and the requirements around working confidentiality and keeping sensitive information secure
  • You have practical experience in HSE management systems, conducting risk assessments, and supporting incident investigations in complex operational environments
  • You can interpret data, identify trends, and produce accurate reports that inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • You demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver practical solutions under pressure whilst remaining calm and professional
  • You work effectively as part of a team, building strong relationships and influencing others to adopt safe working practices

What to expect at interview

Our selection process includes a structured interview followed by a short presentation. Interviews will take place during the week of 12 January 2026. Candidates will be asked to prepare a brief presentation (10 minutes) on a topic provided in advance, showcasing their ideas, communication skills and creativity.
