Inspire Education Group is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer to join our Estates team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting a safe and compliant environment for staff, students and visitors across our campuses.

Working closely with the Group Director of Estates, Facilities and Health and Safety, you will provide advice and guidance on health and safety legislation, support managers with risk management, and help promote a positive culture of safety across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
• Providing health and safety advice and guidance to managers and staff
• Carrying out health and safety audits and inspections across departments
• Reviewing and maintaining risk assessments, including fire risk assessments
• Investigating accidents and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements (RIDDOR)
• Supporting the development and implementation of health and safety policies
• Delivering health and safety training and inductions
• Organising fire drills and supporting emergency procedures
• Monitoring accident data and identifying trends to improve safety

About you
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a health and safety role and is confident working with colleagues at all levels. You will have strong communication and organisational skills and a proactive approach to improving safety standards.

Essential requirements:
• Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety
• Level 2 English, Maths and IT
• First Aid qualification
• Full clean driving licence
• Experience carrying out risk assessments
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable:
• Experience within the education sector
• Experience in health and safety auditing

Normal working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, although occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events (time off in lieu will be provided).
