Job Description:

Your impact in this role:

As Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Cluster Manager for the Geertruidenberg cluster, consisting of 4 sites and 2 quarries, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and managing activities within the global H&S program for your assigned cluster. You will support Sibelco in complying with local regulations and Sibelco H&S Standards to ensure every employee, contractor, and visitor can work in a safe and healthy work environment.

In the role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Health & Safety Responsibilities (80%):
• Conduct site visits, field observations, and process confirmations to verify safety compliance.
• Follow up on safety practices, attend shift/handover/daily operations meetings, and provide ongoing safety support.
• Collaborate with the Central Europe Regional HS Manager and HS Global Competence Center to align local programs with the global Sibelco H&S strategy, programs, standards, and tools.
• Develop and implement site-specific emergency response plans for your cluster's sites.
• Advise on and perform risk assessments for local projects with potential impacts on H&S, working closely with operators, supervisors, and local operational leadership.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local legal requirements, report gaps, and assist in the development and execution of action plans in collaboration with local stakeholders.
• Oversee the successful rollout of H&S training programs in your area of responsibility.
• Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting of H&S performance metrics (KPIs) for your assigned area.
• Stakeholder management, including coaching and influencing leadership positions in Operations.
• Change management: ability to navigate in a work environment where change is constant.
• Drive safety culture transformation and behavioral-based safety programs.

Environmental Responsibilities (20%):

Support monitoring and reporting of environmental emissions on site (related to emissions in water, air, soil, waste, noise, odor) to ensure site compliance:

• Understand legal obligations and permit conditions regarding environmental emissions for the sites and locations in scope.
• Set up monitoring systems and ensure that emissions are measured at the required frequency.
• Engage with consultants to perform the measurements and obtain environmental data and analysis reports.
• Discuss emission results with cluster leaders and Sustainability.
• Ensure necessary data and analysis reports are sent to the authorities on time.
• Support environmental inspections on emission measurements (not on other permit conditions) on site (including preparation of requests for measurements from authorities).
• Initiate remediation actions in relation to emissions, if needed, and proactively follow up.
• Propose improvements and discuss them with cluster leaders and Sustainability

What you bring to the table
• Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and the Machine Directive. Minimum certificate as "MVK".
• Prior relevant experience in Health & Safety Management, preferably in an industrial or operational setting.
• Strong character with a hands-on approach and a driving force.
• Winner's mentality - strong resolve combined with a strong sense of team spirit.
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the company.
• Ability to empower people and implement & guide change/projects.
• Proficiency in English and Dutch, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to travel regularly to ensure presence at each of the 4 sites (2x Maastricht, Geertruidenberg, and Winterswijk) at least once every 2 weeks. Your office location will be on site in Geertruidenberg or Maastricht, next to the Operational Leaders.
