WSP (with over 70,000 professionals worldwide) is seeking a Junior H&S Engineer to join our Remediation team in one of our offices located in Rome, Turin, Milan, Padua, Pisa, or Rende (Cosenza).

The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary and international team involved in the development of Health & Safety projects both in Italy and abroad.

The main work activities will involve the development of Health & Safety consulting services across the different phases of projects, both in Italy and internationally.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

The candidate, supported by senior team members, will be involved in typical H&S engineering activities, including:

• Supporting the operational phases of H&S projects using established methods and tools.
• Collecting, verifying, and analyzing technical data related to H&S issues.
• Drafting and updating technical reports, studies, project documents, and deliverables.
• Performing preliminary calculations, risk analyses, and basic simulations.
• Using technical software and IT tools as indicated by the team.
• Collaborating with other technical disciplines in managing project activities.
• Supporting the preparation of technical documentation (such as Risk Assessment Documents, Safety Plans, Emergency Plans, technical reports, etc.).

Typical Operational Activities

The main activities you may be involved in include:

• Drafting specialist documents (Risk Assessment Documents, Safety and Coordination Plans, fire risk assessments, emergency plans).
• Conducting on-site H&S inspections and compliance audits.
• Supporting Technical Due Diligence activities.
• Activities related to the development and maintenance of HSE management systems.
• Assisting in the definition of training courses, workshops, and safety training materials.
• Providing technical consulting for safety management in civil/industrial construction sites.
• Preliminary verification of fire protection system compliance according to national and international standards.

WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?

Essential Requirements

• Fluent written and spoken Italian.
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulatory frameworks.
• Introductory knowledge of main fire safety regulations for civil and industrial sectors.
• Good command of key IT tools (Office suite, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a technical context.
• Knowledge of the English language.

Preferred Requirements (Plus)

• Registration on the list of Qualified Fire Protection Technicians (DM 05/08/2011) or willingness to undertake the qualification path.

Education and Experience

• Master's Degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent qualification with a specific interest in Safety.
• Previous experience, even minimal (0-1 year), in the H&S sector, construction sites, fire prevention, or related fields.
