About The Role

Working across all areas of the Council, this role presents a unique opportunity to manage and advise on Health and Safety in a range of interesting environments including an iconic pier, green flag country parks and leisure centres.

As the Council's "Competent Person" for Health and Safety you will be providing support and advice to a range of key service areas and staff at all levels of the organisation - your contribution will be integral to the effective management of Health and Safety at North Norfolk District Council.

You will have the opportunity to drive change and develop policies and strategies which will cover this important topic area for our organisation.

About You

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achievement in the area of Health and Safety and a detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and guidance.

The successful candidate will hold the NEBOSH General Certificate in occupational health and safety and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate and/or IOSH Technical Membership Grade (Essential) or a relevant degree.

They will also hold a Full membership, through competency-based assessment, of relevant professional body e.g. the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health or the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Due to the range of stakeholders, great communication and customer management skills are essential for this job role, in addition to strong negotiation and influencing skills.
