The successful candidate will provide regulatory guidance, compliance assurance, and operational support throughout the company’s Onshore Resources Carbon Management (ORCM) organization. The role will focus primarily on Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (OCD), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requirements applicable to onshore well permitting and compliance.

The role will focus primarily on Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (OCD), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requirements applicable to onshore well permitting and compliance.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Permitting
- Complete regulatory activities associated with drilling and operations of wells in Texas and New Mexico.
- File drilling, completion, workover, and plugging permits.
- File well testing, annual testing, and annual regulatory reports.
- Resolve operation and production-related compliance issues, including inactive well compliance and violations.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies to support proactive regulatory oversight.
- Participate in industry workgroups to support development and improvement of internal procedures, policies, and compliance practices, as needed.
- Work closely with asset and operations personnel to provide guidance on state and federal permitting and operating requirements.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate applicable agency-issued directives and regulatory updates to the assets.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years in upstream oil and gas required
- Regulatory analyst experience required
- Knowledge of state (New Mexico and Texas) and federal oil and gas regulations
- Track record of developing relationships with other disciplines.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
- Good organization and time management skills
