Job Title: CDM Health & Safety Manager

Location: Walsall, West Midlands, United Kingdom - WS2 7PD

Salary: £40,000 -£50,000 Plus Car Allowance and Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to lead our Health & Safety. Your primary responsibility is to oversee and ensure the effective implementation of Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health standards within the organisation. This role entails leading the company Safety on Site, monitoring, and enhance compliance. You'll conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement, providing strategic guidance and training to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining a safe working environment.

IWS M&E mitigates and manages risk from mechanical and electrical failures for a wide range of customers in the public and private sectors throughout the UK.

An established Principle Contractor and Designer within the MEICA Process sector, IWS M&E's specialisms include pump diagnostics and refurbishment, turn-key project management, chemical dosing and control, and plant and infrastructure maintenance with emergency response.

What's the role:
  • Lead on Safety, providing direction, support, and development opportunities to ensure effective implementation of Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health standards. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Help maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS), ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and addressing non-conformities to maintain high standards of compliance and performance.
  • Promote sustainable practices and initiatives, conduct environmental impact assessments, and liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs related to quality, environmental, health, and safety standards, ensuring all employees receive appropriate training and are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, implementing best practices, and monitoring performance metrics to drive organizational excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, prepare and present reports on QUENSH performance to senior management, and collaborate with other departments to integrate QUENSH objectives into overall organisational processes
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation. Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices.

What you'll need:
  • Diploma-level qualification in NEBOSH, NVR, or NCRQ, with comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, CDM knowledge essential.
  • Strong leadership background with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety-related software, with keen attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and adaptability to various situations.
  • Full driving license required for frequent travel.
