EnvironmentalNES Fircroft has partnered with a global oil & gas exploration, development and production business, who are currently seeking an experienced Approvals Advisor to assist with obtaining environmental permits, approvals and tenures required across their CSG assets. This role is on a contract basis with the initial scope of 24 months. The position will be based in Brisbane, working Monday to Friday in Brisbane CBD.

Job Requirements & Specifics:
- Supporting the delivery of environmental regulatory approvals and permits, environment reviews, plan of operations and estimated rehabilitation costs calculations, as well as supporting advocacy for positive environmental legislation, policy and statutory settings. In addition to keeping the business updated regarding any changes to relevant environmental regulations, legislation, policy and guidelines.
- Supporting compliance and approvals continuous improvement by identifying, recommending and implementing streamlining efficiencies (cost and time) in the administration of the regulatory approvals.
- Assisting in providing support and advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders by promoting environmental awareness and approval compliance throughout the business to ensure all regulatory requirements are understood. Work collaboratively with fellow industry peers to share best practices and address common issues.

- An environmental, planning, science or law degree (essential).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a role dealing with Environmental Statutory approvals in the resources sector.
- Knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation and policies, as well as a broader understanding of national and international standards relating to impact assessment.
- Understanding of, and relevant experience including but not limited to QLD's Environmental Protection Act 1994, Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, Nature Conservation Act 1992 requirements, approvals and permits applicable to CSG operations in Queensland.
- Proven ability to prepare high quality application documents which allow for the timely delivery of regulatory approvals.
- Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Team player that identifies and understands (business) project requirements and translates these opportunities into delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to projects and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to proactively connect stakeholders across the business.
- The courage to share views, insights, uncomfortable truths whilst accepting and supporting decisions made. You will need determination and ready to work in a fast moving and challenging environment. You will have outstanding skills in collaboration, negotiation, stakeholder management, communication, problem solving and influencing. You will also be capable of building effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business including staff, contractors and external suppliers.
