Our client is seeking a Full-Time Environemnetal Engineering Director, Air to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Houston-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Vice President of Engineering.
  • Lead strategic air permitting initiatives for multiple LNG facilities and associated pipelines, addressing complex technical and regulatory challenges. Collaborate closely with teams to understand specific processes and develop permitting strategies that ensure maximum operational flexibility.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on air quality permitting, including conducting regulatory analyses related to facility design, construction, commissioning, and operations. Manage major and minor source air permit applications under Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), Title V, state regulations, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Resource Report 9.
  • Provide guidance on air emissions development, including conducting pre-feasibility assessments, calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, and identifying opportunities for emissions reduction and energy efficiency improvements.
  • Support and guide staff and contractors in planning and executing air quality permitting programs, as well as overseeing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverables.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental) or a related field, or equivalent experience in a management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of air quality regulations, permitting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in air quality permitting within the industrial construction or gas processing sector.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills with experience in managing large-scale air quality and regulatory compliance projects or facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a strong focus on timely performance and problem-solving.
