About the Role:
Kariera Group recruitment services are seeking searching the market to secure a Project Manager – Renewable Energy ( Canadian Hydro/Electric power Market) to join a leading Global Energy Business within Canada (Montreal).
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Manager to join our client’s Energy and Climate Canada team. This role is critical to managing the development of renewable energy projects, particularly wind energy, through collaboration with partners and consultants. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing wind project development, ensuring alignment with strategic energy needs and load growth projections in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Wind Project Development
- Lead the development of utility-scale wind energy projects, managing our renewable energy partners through all project phases, including siting, permitting, interconnection, and external stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure project alignment with our client’s energy strategy, including regional energy load
- needs and decarbonization goals.
- Facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, providing technical oversight and decision-making to maintain project progress and mitigate risks.
- Act as a primary liaison between our client and the renewable energy partner, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and adherence to contractual obligations.
Hydro and Renewable Energy Development
- Oversee the development of hydroelectric projects in collaboration with Indigenous partners, including coordinating external consultants and ensuring project alignment with mutual objectives.
- Participate in feasibility studies, partnership structure planning, and financial modeling for renewable energy projects.
Collaboration
- Provide support to the team during strategic planning and investment approvals from Internal committees and senior leadership team.
- Collaborate with internal departments as needed to ensure project alignment with best practices and standards
- Collaborate with internal teams in operations during technical planning, system interconnection, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management to ensure cohesive project execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & presentation abilities in both English and
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships & work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with partnerships, contracts, and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with the Canadian business landscape and regulatory environment is a plus.
- Project management and organizational skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving with strong negotiation and influencing.
- Experience in energy systems and electrical systems.
- Experience with power system and mining operations.
