Cost Controller
Industry: Oil & Gas / FPSO
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Consolidation & Reporting: Independently collate, compile, and analyze cost data to support timely reporting.
- Cost Control Implementation: Understand and ensure proper implementation of approved cost control procedures.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans, including budget allocation, cost breakdown structures, and forecasting.
- Cost Tracking & Variance Analysis: Track budget variances and challenge budget owners on any deviation from the approved cost baseline.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile project cost reporting with accounting and financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Invoice & Change Order Reviews: Review subcontractor invoices, ensure proper cost allocation, and assess potential variations impacting project budgets.
- Risk & Contingency Planning: Perform cost risk analysis to define accurate contingency reserves and contribute to project risk management.
- ERP System Utilization: Work with SAP (preferred) or other ERP systems to manage cost control processes.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with project teams, finance, procurement, and other departments to ensure cost control objectives align with overall project goals.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior cost control staff as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or Operations Management.
- AACE Certification (CCT or CCP) preferred.
- 8+ years of cost engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry (or 12+ years in other industries with Oil & Gas process knowledge).
- Previous experience in a senior cost control role is preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP (preferred) or other ERP systems.
