Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Lead and manage the annual financial and operational planning processes, including year-end reviews and performance analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate monthly operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial and operational reports, including key performance metrics, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide strategic insights and reporting materials for Board and Annual General Meetings.
- Develop and oversee finance operational policies and procedures to drive efficiency and compliance.
- Lead initiatives to resolve finance operational challenges, ensuring seamless processes across all departments.
- Oversee the management of financial systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory and organisational standards.
- Maintain a structured and well-documented system for operational and financial records.
- Implement and manage internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial operations.
Investor Relations
- Oversee the preparation of key investor communication materials, including financial presentations, annual reports, and earnings announcements.
- Maintain strong relationships with investors and analysts, ensuring transparent and timely communication.
- Monitor market trends and shareholder feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance and Strategy teams to align messaging with the company’s vision and performance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Financial:
- Cost savings and optimisation
- Reduction in cost of re-work
Customer:
- Technical Specification Acceptance Rate
- Compliance with client requirements
- Minimisation of delays due to errors in technical documentation
Internal Process:
- Quality and accuracy of technical specifications
- Compliance with internal and external standards
Learning & Growth:
- Staff development in relation to required skill levels
- Participation in coaching and professional development initiatives
Special Projects
- Support the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and business transformation projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
- Provide financial and operational analysis to assess feasibility and implementation of special projects.
- Ensure alignment of special projects with overall organisational strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Recognised professional qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA).
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, ideally within the Oil & Gas Fabrication industry or a similar complex sector.
- Proven success in managing financial and operational challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong track record in achieving performance targets within budget and timeframe constraints.
- Experience bridging strategic financial planning with operational execution, including capital and asset planning.
- Expertise in developing and implementing specialised financial services and operational policies.
- Strong leadership skills with a history of fostering collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in workforce planning, resource management, and change management.
