Wood is recruiting for a Quality Manager to join its Operations business focusing on Project Delivery (OA). This opportunity is onsite, based in our Houston, TX office.

The Role
As Quality Manager, you will lead the application of quality principles, systems, and performance measures across the organization, ensuring compliance with the Wood Business Management System and driving continuous improvement. You will support delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation through structured assurance programs, data-driven decision-making, and proactive engagement with senior leadership. This role has a broad scope, typically operating at the business group or large project level, and includes leadership of a quality team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of quality management across the organization, ensuring effective implementation of the Wood Business Management System and compliance with internal and external standards
- Engage with key stakeholders and senior leaders to promote quality performance, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and mentor quality teams, ensuring competence development, performance reviews, and sharing of best practices
- Conduct quality assurance audits, support tenders and proposals, and facilitate external BMS certifications
- Plan and execute risk-based assurance programs, escalate significant findings, and analyze delivery performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure quality standards are upheld across the supply chain and customer feedback is acted upon to enhance satisfaction
- Coordinate annual management reviews and provide technical support on project quality issues
- Represent the quality function internally and externally, including engagement with clients, suppliers, and industry bodies
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent in quality management, project management, or a related discipline
- Quality control experience in construction and fabrication
- Lead Auditor qualification from a recognized industry body
- 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and industry standards
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and working with multifunctional teams
- Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and techniques
- High-level communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
- Membership in CQI, ASQ, PMI, or equivalent organizations
- Formal training in root cause analysis techniques
