What's the Job Like?

  • Direct and coordinate compliance with all applicable standards such as ISO 9001, API Q1/Spec.7, and other applicable customer requirements.
  • Establish the overall requirements for QA specifications and standards for materials, processes and finished products for the Product Center.
  • Work with the applicable agencies to ensure compliance to applicable regulatory and legislated requirements.
  • Facilitate and lead team efforts to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, support strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and help develop measurement systems to determine QA improvements.
  • Motivate and evaluate staff, manage projects and human resources, analyze financial situations, determine and evaluate risk and employ knowledge management tools and techniques in resolving challenges.
  • Lead and champion process-improvement initiatives. Continually review the QA system to formulate new procedures or revise existing ones to effect improvements, reduce wastes and operational costs and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinate the Product Center's QA objectives for continuous improvement in all aspects of the business including but not limited to the QA department goals, product performance issues, service quality, training and feedback.
  • Develop QA plans and other required process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality and HS&E standards.
  • Coordinate and direct inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, process and finished products.
  • Review product and process non-conformances and recommend remedial actions including but not limited to


modifications of processes, products or QA standards where warranted.

  • Support engineering department as necessary in establishing standards for new processes and products prior to production.
  • Support Supply Chain to qualify suppliers and sub-contractors and provide technical assistance to supplier when required to improve the overall quality and/or reduce costs.
  • Maintain close contact with global QA team activities, providing advice and direction as requested on procedures, process/product inspection requirements and equipment.
  • Ensure that all QA department personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Manage the QA departmental budget and other administrative functions to ensure an efficient operation that is cost effective and well-integrated.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Sales, Marketing, Service Quality and Engineering groups in developing suitable products and services for customers where necessary.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers when necessary on specific QA issues and incidents.


Who's Going to be Successful in this Job

EDUCTATIONAL & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Engineering or Higher
  • At least 5+ years' experience including progressive training and experience in quality assurance and control techniques, product reliability and test lab procedures plus supervision and managerial responsibilities.
  • MS Office Suite
  • SharePoint and intranet knowledge
  • Databases, ERP, Shop PM, TCE, etc.
  • Interpretation of Engineering Prints, Material Specifications, Standards, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge/experience with precision engineering
  • Champion facility goals for Quality, Safety, Innovation and Cost - seek opportunities to provide feedback on process improvements, cost savings, and opportunities to work more efficiently and/or safely.
  • Remain open to feedback and collaboration with other departments and business units
  • Regular attendance and timeliness
