Job Description
This position performs technical duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
Examples of Duties
• Installs, modifies and repairs HVAC, electrical, plumbing and emergency power generation systems.
• Inspects HVAC equipment prior to seasonal changes.
• Identifies and coordinates the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Schedules, coordinates and monitors the work of contractors.
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Repairs and replaces locks; has keys made; maintains key inventory.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies.
• Disables and enables fire alarms and smoke exhaust fan systems for events with smoke, etc.
• Maintains equipment and supply inventory; makes purchases as needed.
• Prepares annual operations and capital improvement budget recommendations.
• Maintains fuel oil inventory; makes purchases as needed.
• Prepares maintenance records.
• Maintains assigned tools and equipment.
• Purchases parts and supplies as needed.
• Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
