About the role:
The Chief of Staff to the Senior VP plays a crucial role in the success of the business, driving key strategic initiatives and actions within the division and across the enterprise. This is a strategic role that relies on strong networking, interpersonal, and execution skills.

Additional Information:

• Position will be located in Houston, TX.
• This position will require less than 25% travel.
• Relocation is available for this position

• This position requires working onsite five days a week.

What you will do:
• Plan, organize, and facilitate periodic leadership governance meetings, leadership events, and executive reviews. Follow-up on action items for timely closure.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team to prioritize critical issues and required information to facilitate effective decision making.
• Ensure clear communication of objectives, expectations, and assign responsibilities as needed.
• Track and report on key performance metrics.
• Be able to work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Consistently meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality work.
• Be able to navigate and influence without authority across a large matrix organization.
• Keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots and elevate key issues to senior leadership to drive actions and outcomes as needed.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Senior VP and the COGMD leadership team.

What you will have:
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Updates stakeholders on potential changes; re-negotiates requirements as necessary.
• Identifies the critical goals and tasks required to meet daily objectives.
• Develops contingency plans or to improve processes and to avoid problems before they occur.
• Evaluates linkages and interrelationships when prioritizing multiple responsibilities.
• Manages conflicting priorities effectively.
• Tracks the implementation of plans closely to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Differentiates assumptions, perspectives, and historical frameworks.
• Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.
• Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact.
• Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.

• Ensures that assumptions and received wisdom are objectively analyzed in decisions.

Conflict Management: Knowledge of managing conflicts; ability to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level.

• Mediates and resolves conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments.
• Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones.
• Guides participants in a conflict to rethink their current views.
• Demonstrates good judgment in deciding when to involve a third party.

• Surfaces disagreements in early stages.

Additional Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
• Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.

Summary Pay Range:
$156,000.00 - $234,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
