THE LOCATION: Augsburg, Germany

THE ROLE
As a Software Project Manager at IGEL Technology, you will take ownership of cross-functional software-related projects that are critical to the company's product development. You will work in close collaboration with Product Owners, Development, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
This role is ideal for a structured and reliable project management professional with hands-on experience in the software development environment, who is ready to take responsibility for medium-sized initiatives without needing senior-level leadership authority.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently deliver assigned small to medium-sized software-related projects on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Create, manage, and regularly update detailed project schedules, plans, and status reports
  • Lead project meetings, ensure effective team communication, and coordinate cross-functional activities
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders and PMO
  • Escalate complex issues or critical blockers to PMO leadership when necessary
  • Collaborate with product owners, team leaders, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate success and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Apply and advocate IGEL's standardized PMO processes, templates, and tools throughout the project lifecycle

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, IT, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience managing projects in a software or technical environment
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Hands-on experience working with software development
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, or similar project management platforms
  • Ability to build trust across teams and coordinate effectively across time zones
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to escalate strategically when needed
  • An Initial certification in project management (e.g. PSM, PMP, GPM, IPMA, PRINCE2...) is preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams
