Steam Turbine Project Manager - Full Time - Birmingham, United Kingdom

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.

Sulzer is a global leader in rotating equipment services, and we're investing heavily in our Turbo Services division-a strategic growth area focused on steam turbines and compressors. As part of this expansion, we've created a brand-new Project Manager role to take full ownership of complex, high-value projects across the UK.

This is more than project delivery. You'll be at the heart of our transformation, helping to establish a Turbo Centre of Excellence at our flagship Birmingham facility, home to one of the UK's most advanced high-speed balancing machines. From sales handover through service, repair, and overhaul, you'll manage every stage: deploying field teams, coordinating workshops, driving supply chain, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Your Impact
  • Take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of execution: hardware, documentation, financials, dispute resolution, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide line management for Technical Field Authorities, fostering performance and development.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce risk and identify growth opportunities.

What You'll Bring
  • Engineering qualification or equivalent experience (steam turbine experience preferred).
  • Experienced in leading field-based teams delivering service, maintenance, overhaul, and repair activities
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
  • Ability to work independently with excellent organisational skills.

Role Location

This role is primarily remote, but regular travel is required-to customer and supplier sites as well as our UK workshops, mainly in Birmingham, Leeds, and Aberdeen. You'll have full autonomy to manage your own diary and schedule

What We Offer You
  • A competitive basic salary
  • An annual bonus based on a combination of company performance and your individual contribution
  • Car/Allowance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 33 days annual leave.
  • Defined pension contributions.
  • Access to Medicash, helping you cover everyday health costs like dental, optical, and physiotherapy, plus a range of wellbeing perks.
  • Confidential support via Employee Assistance Programmes.
  • Discounted personal car leasing for you, your family, and friends.
  • Long Service Awards celebrating your commitment.
  • Continuous learning opportunities through Sulzer Learning Pathways.
  • We're proud to support those who've served. Sulzer is a Bronze Award holder under the MoD's Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, meaning we actively welcome and support ex-military personnel and reservists in building successful careers with us.
