Role: Project Manager / Contracts Manager (Building Restoration / Heritage)
Location: Essex
Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 (DOE)
Sector: Heritage / Conservation / Building Restoration

About your new company:

Our client is a specialist and progressive masonry contractor operating across the new build, heritage, building restoration and conservation sectors for both commercial and bespoke residential projects across London & South East.

This is great time to be joining our client, the below role will play a pivotal position in the next stage of of growth and taking on a lead role within the business working alongside the directors.

Duties for the Project Manager / Contracts Manager:

Manage through the pre-construction phase, including
  • Design management of bespoke masonry and fixings, as well as being involved in design workshops
  • Raising technical queries and requests information
  • Produce and agree programming/sequencing for the project
  • Producing and maintaining procurement & project delivery schedule, including material orders
  • Undertake risk assessments and produce/issue RAMS
Manage through the construction phase, including;

  • Overseeing foremen/supervisors to facilitate anything they require to complete a project on time and within internal budgets
  • Identifying any new risks and/or changes to scope, including pricing smaller value variations. Any larger more detailed variations would be priced by the QS.
  • Undertake valuations of works to date and agreeing monthly payments alongside commercial director
  • Review quality on site, ensure remediation where necessary, and producing QA documentation as well as O&M information
Assist in the companies consultancy services, including;
  • Design management as stipulated above
  • Manage any CDPs
  • Conduct condition surveys, investigations and issue reports detailing recommended scopes of work and technical advice
  • Advise on material section where NBS does not specify, as well as recommending detailing and providing sampling ahead of works on site
Assist in the companies commercial / financial management, including;

  • Sitting in on CVR meetings with internally and producing information as required
  • Set internal cost plan and project targets, including recording changes as and when
  • Manage day-to-day commercial aspects in accordance with the contract
