Requirements
- Generate deliverables-based, integrated plans (timing and resource) to set timelines for the successful delivery of project objectives to quality, time and cost targets.
- Collaborate with the technical lead(s) to set milestones in the plan to track progress in alignment with business strategy.
- Lead regular team workload reviews. Document and distribute key notes and actions within the project team.
- Lead, prepare and present project status reports including programme gateway documentation.
- Identify resource requirements and work with teams in allocating resources for project delivery.
- Support Programme Managers with budget management and reviews.
- Support the technical lead and proactively seek out solutions to address issues and risks. Maintain the risk register and risk management plan and conduct regular risk reviews for each project.
- Integrate across Tokamak Energy functions (eg Purchasing and Supply Chain, Commercial, Technical Engineering Group etc) as well as the technical teams for successful delivery.
- Promote adherence to safe working practices in the delivery of project activities.
- Seek out and promote smarter and more efficient ways of delivering the project against the business milestone.
- Actively work within the PMO to evolve processes and tools through continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Degree qualified/apprenticeship in project management or a technical field
- Demonstrate the potential to deliver a complex technical product or manufacturing project (e.g. Project Manager in a university group project, project management in an internship/work-placement, etc)
- Provide evidence of excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Provide evidence of an ability to assimilate highly technical situations/issues
- Be a naturally inquisitive individual and demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Be adaptable and provide evidence of being able to deal with ambiguity
- Demonstrate potential to lead cross-functional teams across various parts of the organisation (e.g. evidence of leadership roles in extra-curricular groups, a university group project, etc)
Desirable skills:
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tools
- Knowledge of multiple project management methodologies (waterfall, rolling wave, agile, etc) and evidence of practical application of at least one [it is acceptable that this is in an academic setting]
- Training in analytics, data-processing and dashboarding; experience of practical application will be considered a differentiator between candidates
- Evidence of commitment to professional recognition and achievement of professional skills/certifications (e.g. Student or Associate Member of the Association for Project Management)
