Based at Midfield Skills Development & Conference Centre Kirkcaldy or Fife House Glenrothes with hybrid working, 36 hours per week on, full time basis until 29th March 2030. Travel across the Tay Cities Region is required.
Fife Council is delighted to have been awarded funding to deliver Phase 2 of the Tay Cities Region Deal Digital Skills Project. This project is part of a wider £20 million investment from the Scottish Government to support skills development and employability across Angus, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and North East Fife. DigiTay focuses on addressing the digital skills gaps across data, software development, cyber security and AI. We are on a mission to build a strong digital economy working with businesses and stakeholders, including colleges, universities, employability organisations and digital skills training providers.
Phase 2 of the Digital Skills Project will take place between November 2025 and March 2030. Over this period, the project has ambitions to support over 1000 people to gain skills and qualifications required to work in the region's technology sector.
We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in delivering a range of digital skills training and activities. This includes but is not limited to the delivery of:

The Assistant Project Manager will be central to the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the Digital Skills Project.

The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player with a positive attitude to partnership working. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of managing partnership projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a "blended working" arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

- A curriculum development fund for colleges and universities.
- Digital support for travel and tourism businesses across the region.
- A rapid upskilling programme.
- A sponsorship fund to support the local technology ecosystem.
- A website update and refresh.
There may also be opportunities to work with other Tay Cities Region Deal projects to reach shared objectives.

The Person

- Co - ordinate and deliver skills-related projects and activities with a range of stakeholders.
- Represent the project by delivering presentations, attending events, and acting as an ambassador.
- Write reports and promotional content for the website, newsletter and social media accounts.
- Use Excel to monitor projects and analyse data.
- Demonstrate financial planning skills.
- Work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Engage and influence stakeholders and communities to improve access to digital skills training.
- They also should have knowledge of the digital skills landscape with an understanding of existing drivers and policies, and must be educated to SCQF level 7, ideally in a relevant subject.
