We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager to lead the delivery of automation projects at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and completion of automation projects across the site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while meeting regulatory and quality standards.
This is a high-impact role that will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and external vendors/contractors to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and timely delivery of automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from concept, design, and procurement through commissioning, qualification, and handover.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, resources, and budgets; monitor progress and update stakeholders regularly.
• Coordinate with EPCM contractors, OEMs, system integrators, and internal teams to ensure technical, operational, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Ensure projects comply with GMP, GAMP 5, FDA/EMA regulations, and data integrity standards.
• Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Oversee project documentation, change control, and technical deliverables for inspection readiness.
• Collaborate with validation, quality, and operations to support smooth tech transfer and operational readiness.
• Facilitate communication across stakeholders and report project status, risks, and performance metrics to senior leadership.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years' experience in managing automation projects within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget.
• Strong knowledge of automation platforms (PCS7, PLC, SCADA, MES, BMS/EMS, Data Historians) is highly desirable.
• Experience with GMP, GAMP 5, FDA/EMA regulations, validation (DQ, OQ, PQ), and IT/OT integration.
• Strong project management skills, including risk management, resource planning, and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; fluent in German and English preferred.
• Willingness to maintain strong on-site presence
