Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and driven Shop Fit Project Manager who will grow with the company and add value to our team. This role is a field base role managing shop fits Nationwide (UK & Ireland).

Mountain Warehouse is a fast-growing outdoor lifestyle retailer with 400+ stores globally across the UK, EU, North America, Australia and New Zealand, supported by an ambitious expansion strategy. Last year alone we opened 50 new stores, and with a strong pipeline in place, our store growth continues this year and beyond. As part of this exciting journey, we're looking for a Shop Fit Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle from initial budgeting to close out with effective coordination with the Retail team to ensure smooth handover and readiness for the launch team.
  • Support the planning and design process through detailed site visits and working with the design team
  • Communicate project milestones, risks, and changes to key stakeholders, ensuring timely updates and resolution of issues.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring all activities are within financial constraints. Rigorous cost reviews, with proactive identification of potential savings and value-engineering opportunities
  • Tender and manage procurement of related services
  • Identify potential risks or issues that could impact the project timeline or budget.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Oversee the construction and fit-out process, ensuring work is completed on time and to specifications.
  • Ensure all work carried out is compliant; CDM, H&S, Planning, Building Control etc.
  • Coordinate the final walk-through and readiness check before the store's handover.
  • Feedback into the overall process to aid ongoing development of best practice, cost management and procurement

We would like to meet someone who is
  • Proven management of external suppliers and contractors and demonstrate influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven time-management skills and the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear accountability for ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proficiently reading AutoCAD files
  • A forward-thinking approach to improving store design and shopfitting standards, contributing ideas that enhance store design and shop fits
  • Preferably A minimum 3 years - experience of managing fit-out projects in a fast- moving retail environment.
  • Ideally based in the North of England
  • Ability to remain positive, show patience and make judgement calls under pressure.
  • Ability to travel nationwide

  • Excellent written communication skills (copy writing and editing) and attention to detail
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, capable of working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial can-do culture.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own activity and follow up on agreed and objective working approach to problem solving.
