A growing consultancy within the built environment and energy sectors is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of end-to-end renewable energy projects across the UK. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, this role offers the opportunity to shape complex schemes from concept through to commissioning, ensuring technical excellence, commercial control and sustainable outcomes.
Role Overview
As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and execution of renewable energy projects, guiding them through feasibility, design, procurement, construction and final commissioning. You will coordinate electrical, mechanical and civil disciplines, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
A strong background in electrical engineering is essential, along with a solid understanding of mechanical systems associated with solar PV, battery storage, wind, CHP or similar renewable installations. Commercial acumen and experience with contract management will be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects from inception to completion.
- Oversee design development, procurement, installation and commissioning processes.
- Prepare and maintain project programmes, budgets and risk registers.
- Lead coordination between electrical, mechanical and civil engineering teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and relevant authorities.
- Provide regular reports on project progress, financial performance and technical matters.
- Support business development activities and contribute to tender submissions where needed.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Proven experience delivering renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of mechanical systems within energy installations (e.g., HVAC, plant).
- Strong technical expertise in electrical distribution, control systems and grid connections.
- Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, programmes and contractual documentation.
- Demonstrable leadership and organisational capabilities.
- Experience in battery storage, gas peaking or wider renewable energy infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts.
- Experience managing projects from initial concept through to completion.
