As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of medium-to-large projects across different business domains. You will work with cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with strategic objectives. Beyond managing process, you are expected to take full ownership of project content, form fact-based opinions, and confidently defend them in front of stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5-10 years of experience in a consulting firm or project environment who is ready to combine outcome-driven delivery with strong business insight, develop sharp executive communication skills, and grow into a leadership role.
Key responsibilities
Lead projects from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget, while maximizing business value and benefit realization.
Translate business needs into clear project objectives, deliverables, and recommendations, taking ownership of both content and process.
Formulate strong, fact-based positions and defend them with confidence while staying open to constructive challenge.
Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including external providers, fostering collaboration and alignment.
Manage project resources, budgets, and risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
Prepare and present clear, concise, and compelling project updates and decision presentations to stakeholders, up to senior management.
Apply the appropriate project methodology (waterfall, agile, or hybrid) depending on project context.
Promote knowledge sharing, coaching, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Your profile
Experience: 5-10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally gained within a top-tier consulting firm or a project-driven corporate environment. Experience in the insurance sector is a plus but not mandatory.
Education: Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
Skills & competencies:
Strong project management skills (planning, resource allocation, budget monitoring, benefit realization, reporting).
Proven experience with waterfall methodologies; agile exposure is a plus.
Ability to take content ownership, challenge assumptions, and defend positions with senior stakeholders.
Excellent executive communication skills: capable of distilling complex topics into compelling stories that enable decision-making.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
Team player with leadership potential, eager to coach and develop others.
Fluent in English and at least one local language (Dutch or French).
