Location: Balmoral Tanks Limited, Thurnscoe, Rotherham (with occasional UK and overseas travel)
Department: Contracts
Reporting to: Head of Contracts

About the Role

The Project Manager will ensure the efficient delivery of all Projects from point of handover through to Project completion.

In order to meet commitments to customers the job holder will liaise closely with respective departments including Sales, Design, Production, Quality, Finance and Despatch.

They will also work closely with the Technical Advisors occasionally deployed on overseas sites by providing technical support and assisting with travel arrangements

Project Manager requires high levels of organisation, initiative, clear & concise communication skills.

The Contracts Department plays a pivotal role in the business by co-ordinating the input of several disciplines to achieve excellent levels of customer service whilst ensuring project budgets are met.

The role demands high levels of initiative, drive & enthusiasm; you will be expected to act as an ambassador & role model for our business. You will be expected to act as an ambassador and role model for our business whilst demonstrating responsiveness and support to our customers, often in a climate of high pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain personal development and training records.
  • Plan and manage projects from Sales handover through to completion.
  • Keep customers updated on contract status and handle complaints, enquiries and requests.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
  • Maintain live and accurate data within the project management system.
  • Proactively manage projects, including drawing approvals, invoicing, variations and payment collection in line with agreed terms.
  • Arrange shipment of goods to overseas destinations following export procedures and project budgets.
  • Report non-conformities and contribute to investigations and close-out actions.
  • Handle any post-sale customer queries or complaints.
  • Produce analysis of actual spend versus budget upon project completion.
  • Maintain HSE standards on site and manage client expectations, ensuring each project has Specific RAMS.
  • Contribute to project forecasts and performance.

Qualifications
  • Solid academic background, including good GCSEs in Maths and English.

Experience
  • Knowledge, experience and confidence in creating, monitoring, managing and reporting on UK and export projects.
  • Experience with export documentation preferred.
  • Experience in direct customer contact within a business-to-business

environment.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Innovative thinker with commercial awareness.
  • Willingness to develop interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word; training provided on engineering software packages.
