Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of the landside works on the IERRT Project. This includes all of the associated infrastructure outside the marine interface.

They will lead and coordinate all relevant internal and external parties to ensure the landside scope is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This is a client-facing role with full accountability for delivery strategy, team leadership and project outcomes across the landside packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and report to the Senior Project Manager, managing delivery strategy for the landside section of the IERRT programme.
  • Oversee coordination between construction, design, procurement and commercial teams to enable progress of subcontractors and suppliers across all landside activities.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, highlighting risks, challenges and required mitigations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project plans for the landside works.
  • Ensure all client requirements, quality, assurance and compliance documentation are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead the successful delivery of the landside works, setting clear direction and communicating strategy to client, consultant and contractor teams.
  • Monitor workmanship and performance across all landside packages, driving right-first-time quality and continuous improvement.
  • Support the team with technical/engineering elements including method statements, ITPs, specifications, setting-out coordination and quality controls relevant to landside construction.
  • Champion best practice in safety, ensuring a safe working environment across utilities diversions, earthworks, structures, highway works and all other landside elements.
  • Coordinate support functions and ensure adequate technical expertise is available to meet project demands.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders including local authorities, utility providers, designers and client teams.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing landside delivery team, setting clear expectations for safety, quality, cost and programme.
  • Plan, chair and manage coordination meetings for the landside scope.
  • Drive procurement of works and services required to deliver the landside packages.
  • Manage all client engagement relating to the landside works.
  • Produce short- and long-form progress reports, cost forecasts, programme updates and risk assessments.
  • Promote a collaborative working culture across all stakeholders and the supply chain.
  • Ensure readiness planning is completed before starting landside activities, with all controls and permits in place.
  • Set SMART objectives for the landside project team and support performance management.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and provide recommendations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to landside infrastructure delivery.
  • Develop integrated design, authority and procurement programmes specific to the landside scope.
  • Identify, assemble and manage project resources for the landside works, including external specialists and new hires.

Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Experience overseeing budgets, project forecasting and cost control.
  • Highly proficient in coordinating multi-discipline activities across construction, design, commercial and procurement.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practice.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills across scheduling, estimating, procurement, contract administration and financial control.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations relevant to large infrastructure projects.
  • Operates at the highest levels of compliance and integrity.
  • Effective leader who provides clear direction, coaching and support to develop team capability.
  • Adapts well to changing priorities; embraces technology and drives innovation.

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
  • Professional membership: MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex construction or infrastructure works.
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery phase of major projects or programmes.
  • Qualifications in project management, engineering, construction or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship.
  • Valid CSCS card or equivalent safety certification.
