Purpose
During site-wide nightshift operations, monitor all relevant contractor activity to ensure work meets the planned project schedule and other project specifications and the work is delivered and achieved safely on time and with the desired quality.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overall management and coordination of construction contractors for the Construction Area assigned to maximize productivity and maintain schedule.
• Report to Senior Construction Manager and the Project management team daily.
• Develop and attend Weekly construction management meetings with all contractors and management teams at site to report progress, issues and schedule amendments.
• Develops contingency and recovery plans as required.
• Monitors contractor performance and utilization; provides continuous improvement input and strategy development.
• Monitors Project materials and Long Lead items delivery dates to the construction schedules and milestones.
• Requires knowledge of construction techniques and equipment in order to develop strategies and manage overall quality and efficient daily production of equipment.
• Develop solutions to complex problems that require a significant degree of innovation and ingenuity.
• Manages all on-site contractors in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the Company.
• Develops procedures as needed.
• Functions as liaison between multiple project managers, construction and contractors.
• Provides constructability input and construction planning.
• Responsible for safety of supervised personnel; ensures that personnel comply with established safety policies and procedures and has front line responsibility for providing a safe work environment.
• Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules and issue progress reports as required.
• Supervising the activities of contractors and subordinate staff.
• Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
• Instigate and attend Weekly HSE Construction management walks of the construction site with all contractors and client management teams.
• Ensure Quality plans and QA/QC Procedures are implemented and followed by all Contractors with the required reports issued as the contract stipulates.
Technical and Industry Experience
• Relevant experience in large scale industrial projects - proven work experience required.
• Solid Middle Eastern experience ideally in Saudi Arabia.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in construction.
• In-depth knowledge of the specific challenges associated with nightshift working.
• Proven experience in managing complex construction projects.
• Solid safety implementation experience and successful safety performance.
• Solid Quality assurance experience and performance.
