Project Manager

Salary: Grade 6 £42,254- £50,253 per annum

Full time: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term: 12 months

This role may be eligible for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route. If requiring visa sponsorship, the successful applicant will also need to meet a range of individual criteria to satisfy Home Office requirements. If the role is offered on a part-time basis, this might also affect eligibility.

THE POST - Project Manager

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead key change initiatives aligned with UWS's strategic objectives. You'll manage complex projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within budget. Responsibilities include developing project plans, managing resources, monitoring progress, and reporting to senior stakeholders. You'll advise sponsors, support governance arrangements, and identify risks and interdependencies across programmes. Strong organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills are essential to drive transformational change and continuous improvement across the University.

The successful candidate should have the following:
  • Demonstrable project and / or programme management qualifications (such as PRINCE, MSP), skills and experience, including the successful application of project and programme management methods, governance, techniques and tools for the effective management of initiatives.
  • Proven track record in successfully leading large scale projects working to tight and changing deadlines demonstrating the attributes of an effective team leader
  • Experience of creating and managing plans for complex and varied projects, including budgets and resources, prioritisation and scheduling of conflicting tasks to deliver outputs under tight deadlines, risk and issue management and change management.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing programme risks and benefits, with the ability to take decisive action to achieve successful delivery of project outcomes.
