About the role

Balfour Beatty is a leading international infrastructure group, renowned for delivering complex, high-quality construction projects across the UK and beyond.

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction / Night Manager to join our Regional Build team on a prestigious new build project which is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This high-profile scheme forms part of a live healthcare campus and requires a dedicated professional to manage and coordinate night-time construction activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme certainty while minimising disruption to hospital operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant healthcare development while working for a Tier 1 contractor with a strong commitment to safety, collaboration, and long-term career development.

What you'll be doing

As a Construction/Night Manager you will:
  • Manage and coordinate all night-time construction activities on site
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Act as the main point of contact during night shifts, liaising with site management, subcontractors, and hospital stakeholders
  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and method statements
  • Monitor quality standards and resolve issues proactively
  • Maintain accurate site records, permits, and shift handover reports
  • Respond effectively to any incidents or emergencies during night operations
Who we're looking for

You will have the following:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Night Manager, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Experience managing subcontractors and night works
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • SMSTS (or equivalent)
  • CSCS (Black or Gold card)
