Project Manager - Finance, Compliance & Complex Structures

Description

We are seeking someone who can lead strategic projects within the finance and fiduciary sector, overseeing the review and management of complex client structures to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.

If you have directed cross-functional teams in the delivery of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) programmes in line with Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) regulations and equivalent frameworks across jurisdictions this could be the ideal role for you.

We are looking for people who have managed staff performance, coached team members, and driven operational excellence in compliance processes for high-value and multi-jurisdictional entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct end-to-end project delivery for compliance reviews of complex entities, including trusts, funds, charities, foundations, limited companies, and public companies.
  • Oversee the assessment of CDD/EDD documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and mitigating compliance risk.
  • Develop frameworks for identifying information gaps, categorising issues by regulatory severity, and implementing timely remedial actions.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, liaising with clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies to resolve compliance gaps and present findings.
  • Lead weekly and monthly reporting cycles, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient communication of review outcomes to senior management and governing boards.
  • Implement process improvements that reduced review times while enhancing regulatory accuracy and risk identification.
  • Manage and mentored a team of compliance professionals, fostering skills development and maintaining high performance standards.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget, achieving measurable improvements in audit readiness and governance standards.

Skills & Expertise, Qualifications and Attributes

Skills & Expertise
  • Strategic project management in compliance, fiduciary services, and corporate governance.
  • Deep knowledge of complex structures (trusts, funds, charities, foundations, corporate entities).
  • Extensive experience with multi-jurisdictional compliance and regulatory frameworks (JFSC and equivalents).
  • Proven team leadership and staff management skills.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Analytical risk assessment and resolution planning.
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation.

Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a Level 7 qualification, or an equivalent compliance-related qualification, and/or substantial compliance, accounting, fiduciary, or corporate governance experience. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Chartered Accountant designation (ACCA, ACA, ICAS, SAICA)
  • ICA Diploma in Compliance or related discipline
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • CGI (Chartered Governance Institute) qualification - formerly ICSA - or MSc in Corporate Governance
  • Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP)
