The Finisar Germany GmbH, a Coherent subsidiary serves multiple businesses within Coherent. Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead cross-functional and intercontinental product development projects within Coherent. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to drive execution across globally distributed teams in combination with a strong technical understanding.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex product development projects from concept through industrialization.
  • Define project scope, milestones, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate intercontinental teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.
  • Facilitate communication, align priorities, and ensure transparency among global stakeholders.
  • Manage project risks, budgets, resources, and timelines.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between R&D, Test, Operations, Quality, and Product Line Management.
  • Prepare and execute project reviews and maintain project documentation.

Qualifications
  • Degree in engineering, physics, or related technical field; PMP/IPMA certification is a plus.
  • Several years of experience managing complex technical development programs.
  • Proven leadership of interdisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong understanding of photonics, optics, semiconductors, or high-tech hardware development.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong English skills; German proficiency is a plus.
