Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Manager to support the successful delivery of small to medium-sized projects within our Digital Transportation portfolio. This role sits within our global business area Digital Intelligence. We use digital intelligence and deep human knowledge to create products and solutions in a holistic way. We empower our clients with agile, data-driven insights and technologies that complement our sustainable design, engineering and advisory expertise.

As a Project Manager, you will serve as a key point of coordination between clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders. You'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality, while gaining valuable experience managing diverse teams and complex client relationships.

Role accountabilities:
  • Project Planning: Define project requirements, scope and deliverables. Develop project plans and associated documents.
  • Project Delivery: Coordinate and support the planning, execution, and delivery of transportation-focused digital solutions - Help manage cross-functional delivery teams across internal staff and external partners. Track progress, monitor milestones, and contribute to ensuring projects meet time, scope, and budget requirements.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate meetings, status updates, and documentation to ensure transparency and alignment. Build and maintain positive client relationships and support change management as needed.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify and escalate risks or blockers in a timely manner. Support the development of mitigation plans in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Lead in resolving any issues or challenges that arise during project execution, identifying potential solutions and remedies with the project team.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in the UK and Ireland, and internationally, including engineers, analysts, and technical leads. Participate in project retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support for Business Development: Assist with proposal development, including timelines, resourcing inputs, and project documentation. Support the preparation of presentations and demos for prospective clients.

It is fundamental that you can utilise your project management experience in delivering high value projects to coordinate your delivery team in all aspects of the project in accordance with our contractual obligations including:

In addition to this, you are responsible for the coordination and supervision of your project team, maintaining project team accountability for tasks and the day-to-day delivery of the project. You also have a key role to play in the development of others, both within your project team and the wider business.

Qualifications & Experience:

You will play a key role in delivering complex, multi-year programs across diverse geographies. This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, support proposal development, and contribute to the growth of key client accounts.

As a mid-level leader, you will gain and apply deep knowledge of Arcadis project management processes and tools, while supporting high-profile client engagements and ensuring delivery excellence.

Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required; relevant professional experience will also be considered.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably in digital solutions, transportation, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Active experience in delivering projects through various delivery best practices (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).

Skills:
  • Strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Microsoft Office packages (specifically Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.

Certifications:
  • PMP or CAPM certification is a plus (or willingness to pursue).
