Project Manager
Job description
Are you ready to take ownership of critical engineering packages that keep one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects on track? As a Project Manager at Hinkley Point C, you'll lead complex civil and design work, ensuring safety, schedule and quality on a project that powers millions of homes. At EDF, Success is Personal - it's your journey, powered by us.
The Opportunity
As a Project Manager in the Balance of Plant area at Hinkley Point C, you'll play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most exciting infrastructure projects, supporting our journey towards An Electric Britain. You'll manage complex work scopes, oversee contractors, and ensure delivery meets safety, schedule, and budget requirements.
You'll join us on a salary starting of at least £65,000 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week at our #Hinkley Point C site, with some travel to our #Bristol and #Bridgwater offices.
This role offers longevity and growth as projects evolve. You'll work with international teams, gain exposure to large-scale engineering, and contribute to a project that powers millions of homes with low-carbon electricity.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Project Manager who thrives in complex environments and values collaboration. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
Experience delivering projects within highly regulated or complex industries
Proven background in civil, engineering and design projects
Ability to manage large-scale contracts and supply chains
Strong financial and schedule management skills
Knowledge of change control and risk management processes
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
What You'll Be Doing
Driving lifecycle delivery of contracts within the Balance of Plant area
Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
Overseeing design changes and mitigating impacts on live contracts
Controlling budgets and schedules to meet project milestones
Reporting progress and risks to senior stakeholders
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a starting salary of at least £65,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that's unique to you. Here, Success is Personal - it's your journey, powered by us.
Everyone is welcome at EDF; we're committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.
Join us and find your success at EDF!

Why Join Us?
For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.
Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation - but they also have an eye on the future.
EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.
We're not just building new nuclear power stations. We're developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.
It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there's always a need for more.
Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it's also an industry which is changing.
We're a responsible business and proud to be Britain's biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
