CitySprint has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Procurement.

You will be responsible for leading the procurement function. The role will develop and drive the implementation of a procurement strategy to transform procurement from a purely transactional administrative task into a strategic value-driver, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and sustainable supplier partnerships.

Main responsibilities within the Head of Procurement role:
  • Establish and embed a clear Procurement Policy to eliminate unauthorised spend and ensure a robust, consistent supplier onboarding process.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on strategic procurement planning, providing regular updates and securing timely input and alignment.
  • Provide strong commercial leadership to shape, drive and deliver strategic objectives, business plans, and budgets across the organisation.
  • Review, improve and optimise existing procurement processes, controls, and ways of working to increase efficiency and compliance.
  • Implement a formal Contract Management framework, ensuring all agreements are logged, monitored, and renewed ahead of expiry.
  • Strengthen existing supplier relationships while developing strategic partnerships that support innovation, resilience and security of supply in challenging or volatile markets.
  • Identify new product opportunities from initial concept through to sourcing and fulfilment, ensuring the business continues to innovate and stay ahead.
  • Assess and quantify the financial impact of key strategic and commercial decisions, including investments in people, product development and alternative sourcing routes.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive reporting suite for the Board, tracking KPIs such as cost savings (actual vs budget), supplier diversity, and contract compliance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • A strong track record of successfully implementing procurement strategy and leading the transformation and development of procurement functions.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, while keeping CitySprint's goals and priorities at the forefront.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining internal monitoring and governance systems.
  • Strong negotiation and networking skills, with confidence engaging at all levels.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and making data-driven commercial decisions.
  • Proven experience as a Head of Procurement, Procurement Lead, or similar senior procurement role within a complex, multi-site or fast-paced organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience developing procurement functions, delivering cost efficiencies, and strengthening commercial and supplier strategies.
  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership teams, providing strategic input and presenting insights to board-level audiences.
  • Strong background in contract management, supplier relationship management, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and governance standards.
  • Experience leading or contributing to business transformation, process improvement, or change programmes within procurement or commercial operations.
