  • About The Role
  • We are seeking a strategic, commercially astute, and inspiring leader to join us as Head of Procurement for various fresh produce categories. This senior role carries full commercial, strategic, and leadership accountability for multiple categories, owning the end-to-end sourcing strategy and P&L for AMT/Tesco.

    You will build a resilient, sustainable, and innovative global supply base, ensuring Tesco's commercial, quality, availability, and sustainability objectives are met. Acting as a trusted partner to growers and Tesco buyers, you will drive long-term value creation, supply chain excellence, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Category Leadership: Set and lead the long-term global sourcing strategy across multiple categories. Build senior relationships with growers, grower groups, and service providers.
    • Commercial & P&L Ownership: Full accountability for category P&L, including procurement, logistics, packaging, and investment decisions. Deliver margin optimisation and sustainable grower returns.
    • Supply Chain Excellence: Ensure end-to-end control and risk management across production, packing, storage, shipping, and distribution. Drive efficiency, forecast accuracy, and waste reduction.
    • Innovation & Development: Lead varietal, packaging, and format innovation. Sponsor trials, commercialisation programs, and long-term category development.
    • Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing: Drive measurable improvements in carbon footprint, resource efficiency, and ethical compliance. Represent the categories at sustainability forums.
    • Collaboration & Leadership: Provide clear strategic leadership to procurement teams, develop talent, influence stakeholders, and represent the categories internally and externally.
  • About You
  • Essential:

    • 5+ years in a senior procurement role with end-to-end P&L ownership.
    • Deep expertise in fresh produce supply chains across multiple categories.
    • Strong strategic thinker with hands-on commercial rigour.
    • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and leadership skills.
    • Understanding of retail dynamics and shopper behaviour.
    • Proven record in delivering innovation, transformation, and sustainable value.

    Desirable:

    • Experience in multi-year commercial negotiations and investment planning.
    • Track record in leading packaging, varietal, and sustainability initiatives
