Role accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain commissioning plans: Define scope, timelines, resourcing, and deliverables (Commissioning Plan & Schedule, Commissioning Checklists & Protocols, Progress & Issue Reports, Final Commissioning / Handover Report, Compliance Certifications).
  • Coordinate commissioning activities: Ensure alignment with overall project schedule and milestones.
  • Risk management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commissioning-related risks.
  • Liaise with stakeholders: Interface with clients, contractors, designers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Communication management: Provide clear updates, resolve issues, and facilitate meetings.
  • Review designs and specifications: Ensure systems are commissionable and meet performance requirements.
  • Lead commissioning processes: Oversee system start-up, testing, and validation (mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.).
  • Quality assurance: Verify that installations comply with standards and contract requirements
  • Prepare commissioning documentation: Develop checklists, test protocols, and maintain logs.
  • Generate reports: Produce progress, issue, and completion reports for internal and client review.
  • Manage handover documentation: Ensure all manuals, certificates, and as-built records are delivered.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations during commissioning.
  • Promote safe practices: Conduct risk assessments, enforce safety protocols, and lead incident investigations if required.
  • Identify process improvements: Suggest solutions to optimize commissioning workflows and enhance quality.
  • Capture lessons learned: Document and share insights for future projects.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a project manager in commissioning, ideally with a focus on data centers (desirable) or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and data center-specific requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools) and familiarity with BIM processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient solutions in construction is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal, is essential.
  • Willingness to regularly travel within Germany and abroad as required for project demands.
