Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 400 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energy and battery storage systems in power markets, and have been actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive ProjectFinance Manager to support the commercial and financial management of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role will act as a key commercial and financial backbone for our asset portfolio - ensuring budgets are controlled, cash flows are accurately forecasted, and commercial risks are well managed across the full project lifecycle. You will work closely with project execution, technical, legal, treasury, and external partners to ensure strong commercial steering, financial integrity, and optimized performance of our BESS projects.

What you would work on?

• Commercial and financial management of BESS projects across development, construction, and operations.
• Financial reporting, budget control, cash flow monitoring, and forecasting.
• Support of investment decisions through cost analysis, financial modeling, and sensitivity assessments.
• Commercial steering and contract management (EPC, O&M, grid connection, land leases).
• Collaboration with international teams and external partners, including accounting, audit, and tax advisors.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls and supporting continuous improvement of financial and commercial processes.

What makes you a great candidate?

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in commercial, financial, controlling, or asset management roles.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally including BESS, solar, wind, or hybrid projects.
• Strong understanding of project-based commercial structures (CAPEX, OPEX, contracts, cash flows).
• Familiarity with EPC, O&M, and service contracts.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English and German.
