Your next role
We are seeking an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to play a key role within our Corporate Assets portfolio. To lead delivery of regeneration projects for Council-owned listed buildings, funded by the Local Regeneration Fund, and work under guidance of the Strategic Lead for regeneration of the Carriage Works.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects through all stages, ensuring they are delivered on time, to the required quality standards, and in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. You will oversee inspections, monitor progress, and ensure successful handover to end tenants and funding partners.
Responsibilities:
You will be primarily based at the Workshed on the Carriage Works Estate, London Street, Swindon. There is some flexibility for home working, to be agreed with line manager. The majority of time will be site-based due to the nature of construction projects.

Your next role
We are seeking an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to play a key role within our Corporate Assets portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects through all stages, ensuring they are delivered on time, to the required quality standards, and in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. You will oversee inspections, monitor progress, and ensure successful handover to end tenants and funding partners.
Responsibilities:
- Managing project delivery and performance within agreed timescales.
- Undertaking technical appraisals including review of drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary professional design team to secure planning and listed building consents.
- Ensuring quality, compliance, and effective contract management across all works.
You will be primarily based at the Workshed on the Carriage Works Estate, London Street, Swindon. There is some flexibility for home working, to be agreed with line manager. The majority of time will be site-based due to the nature of construction projects.
About You
You will bring:
- Experience in a construction delivery environment, working alongside architects, M&E engineers, cost consultants, and local authority regulatory teams.
- A collaborative approach, with ability to work professionally and tactfully as part of a wider team.
- Experience of supply chain and procurement skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency with MS Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- An understanding of financial processes and transactions (beneficial but not essential).
We are looking for someone passionate about heritage regeneration, to contribute to transformation of a major historic asset in central Swindon - creating high-quality, accessible business space for the future.
You will have:
- An undergraduate level 6 qualification in construction based subject, or equivalent relevant experience
- Good IT skills to ITQ2 or equivalent relevant experience
- Prince 2 Practitioner and/or APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
- CDM knowledge and experience
