Join the Property & Investment Team at L&Q:

The Head of Development & Project Management is a key role within the Property & Investment Directorate, leading the delivery of new build and legacy residential development programmes with a clear customer focus whilst meeting the Group's wider financial and operational requirements.

Reporting to the Director of Development & Project Management, this role leads one of the Development Project Management teams to deliver a significant number of new homes across several live and pipeline schemes throughout London and the South East.

As well as overseeing delivery, the postholder will play a key role in contributing to our future development strategy ensuring that we achieve continuous improvement in the quality of the homes and services we provide to our residents and customers.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about house building. They will possess a strong track record in development project management and leadership, with proven expertise in project appraisal, business planning, and risk management, alongside strong financial skills and sharp commercial acumen.

We are looking for an effective communicator and strong collaborator, with experience of delivering complex housing development in a challenging and ever-changing financial and regulatory environment. You will have the confidence, expertise and credibility to drive the right outcomes for L&Q and our customers.

What you'll bring:

• Excellent analytical and commercial overview skills, alongside an excellent attention to detail and full knowledge of project constraints.
• An experienced people manager, able to lead, motivate and inspire others at all levels to deliver against demanding objectives
• Demonstrable collaboration, stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
• Able to demonstrate extensive financial and commercial acumen, including associated risk management skills
• Able to demonstrate strong contract management skills including dispute resolution
• Good knowledge and practical experience of fire and building safety, quality, latent defects, litigation, etc
