As a Technology Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering large-scale, cross-functional technology and business change initiatives in a fast-moving, international retail environment. You will lead projects that span multiple systems, countries and stakeholder groups, helping modernise our technology landscape while ensuring strong governance, financial control and delivery certainty.

This is a highly visible role where you will work with senior stakeholders, engineering teams and third-party partners to deliver measurable business value, improve customer and colleague experiences, and support Kingfisher's long-term digital and operational strategy.

What's the job?

  • Support activity to establish the business case, with responsibility for planning and defining project scope
  • Identify, plan, manage and select required skills and people, including third parties and suppliers, to deliver the required services and capabilities
  • Ensure all deliverables meet required standards through effective management of project scope and plans, accurate and timely project and budget reporting, and by planning, identifying, assessing and managing risks, issues and dependencies
  • Act as the first point of contact for project issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Ensure projects operate within the agreed governance framework
  • Manage project finances, forecast accuracy and the management of change, recognising schedule, budget and scope impact
  • Create delivery certainty and manage key stakeholders through effective communication, identifying key issues and providing actionable insight to enable effective decision making
Budget Responsibility
  • Management of multiple projects depending on size and scale (typically 3-5 concurrent projects), ensuring alignment with Engineering Management
  • Project budgets up to £4m

What you'll bring

  • Strong technology delivery experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Proven experience delivering projects across diverse technology areas
  • Experience delivering significant technical and non-technical change
  • Well-developed understanding of financial management processes and cycles, including forecasting, capitalisation and budgeting
  • Strong planning capability with the ability to identify key dependencies across project activities
  • Experience ensuring quality and governance of delivery
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Experience working with project teams spanning multiple locations and countries, with the ability to motivate and manage remotely
  • Comfortable dealing with high complexity of change within a fast-paced retail environment
