JOB PURPOSE

The ESG Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project management of the 2025 People Planet Progress (PPP) Report, providing structured delivery across planning, drafting, and launch stages. The role ensures:
  • a clear content plan,
  • coordinated stakeholder engagement,
  • timely preparation of narrative and data inputs,
  • effective collaboration with the external copywriting agency and auditors, and
  • delivery of a high-quality final report and launch communications package.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover role (approx. 4 months - March to July) dedicated specifically to the 2025 PPP Report project.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Planning Stage
  • Familiarize with the previous PPP Report, its scope, structure, and expectations.
  • Understand industry ESG reporting themes, peer benchmarks, and group entity reporting practices.
  • Prepare a comprehensive 2025 content plan, including:
    • Mapping internal stakeholders
    • Collecting data and feature examples from Liberty Global entities, OpCos, and business units (Belonging, Product, Network, etc.)
    • Identifying leadership input needed
    • Reviewing early data trends to ensure story-data alignment
  • Collaborate with the external copywriting agency to set timelines, content structure, workflows, and visual direction.
  • Communicate plans and timelines across Internal and External Communications teams.
  • Provide regular project updates to VP CR & ESG Communications and the CR Team.

Drafting Stage
  • Act as the primary liaison between the external agency and internal teams. Provide required information, including data points, visual assets, and narrative guidance.
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews at each draft stage and manage consolidated feedback.
  • Maintain clear timeline communication with CR team members and auditors; provide milestone updates.
  • Oversee project budget and ensure deliverables are met on time.
  • Coordinate leadership contributions (e.g., CEO letter).
  • Prepare and align the launch communications plan (video, campaign, leadership engagements, print, etc.).

Launch Stage
  • Execute the launch communications plan in partnership with internal and external communications teams.
  • Deliver tailored narratives for employees, external audiences, leadership, and media.
  • Coordinate production of final deliverables (videos, blogs, social posts, town halls, events, printed materials, merchandise).
  • Support leadership appearances at conferences or external engagements tied to the report.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:
  • Full 2025 People Planet Progress Report (final version) delivered by mid June, 2026, with potential short extension.
  • Complete content plan and work-back schedule.
  • Fully coordinated stakeholder inputs, reviews, and leadership contributions.
  • Launch communications assets and coordinated rollout plan.
  • Regular project updates to VP CR & ESG Communications and CR Team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Project management experience (required).
  • Hands-on experience with ESG reporting (terminology, concepts, data gathering, disclosure structure).
  • Ability to work with varied audiences and stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; high proficiency in English (required).
  • Ability to coordinate complex workflows with multiple stakeholders, agencies, and assurance teams.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Experience supporting sustainability communications or reporting in large multinational organizations.
  • Ability to translate sustainability data and trends into clear narrative components.
  • Comfort working with auditors or assurance teams.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in sustainability, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Additional ESG or sustainability training or qualifications are beneficial.
