At Southern Housing, we are seeking a Project Manager (Fire Remediation) to join our Building Safety Directorate on permanent basis.
Reporting to the Programme Manager for Fire Remediation, this role is responsible for leading diagnosis and remediation of fire safety and construction defects across Southern Housing's residential portfolio. You will manage investigations (including PAS9980), oversee remedial works, liaise with regulators and stakeholders, and maintain the golden thread of building safety information to deliver safe, compliant homes.
Key responsibilities:
This role is based at our head office in Farringdon, with the option to work in a hybrid manner. Visits to sites and other offices will be required based on the locations part of the programme's scope and you will require a valid driving licence and essential use of car.

Key responsibilities:
- Review construction information and manage testing, investigations and Type 4 FRAs
- Appoint and manage consultants, contractors and on-site investigations
- Oversee remedial works, quality control inspections and weekly progress reporting with photos
- Maintain O&M and building safety data; ensure accurate handover and sign-off.
- Liaise with enforcement bodies, legal teams, funders and original contractors to secure cost-effective solutions
- Monitor budgets, risks and provide reports to the Building Safety Programme Board

What You'll Need:
- Building surveying experience in housing; membership/qualification such as MCIOB, RICS or MCABE preferred
- Proven track record managing complex projects, contractors and budgets
- In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, building codes, and CDM 2015 regulations
- Relevant fire safety qualification and proven professional experience
- Strong contract, budget control, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communicator of technical information to varied audiences
- Excellent data management and IT skills (Excel, Word)
