Role Purpose

The Network Services Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and successful delivery of network and infrastructure projects across both customer environments and the organization's internal network.

The role is accountable for ensuring that network implementations, upgrades, migrations, and service improvement initiatives are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards, while minimizing risk to live services.

The Project Manager provides leadership across cross-functional technical and operational teams, manages vendors and carriers, maintains governance and reporting visibility, and acts as the primary point of escalation for delivery risks, resource constraints, and service-impacting issues. The role also ensures effective stakeholder communication and the smooth transition of implemented services into operational support.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria for customer and internal network projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering implementation, migration, and transition activities.
  • Manage delivery of projects within agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate resources across network engineering, operations, security, and service teams.
  • Schedule and manage implementation and maintenance windows to minimize service disruption.
  • Coordinate deliverables with ISPs, carriers, hardware vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Track third-party installations, circuit delivery, and equipment lead times.
  • Ensure contractual and SLA commitments are met during implementation.
  • Ensure smooth handover of implemented services to NOC, support, or internal IT operations.
  • Confirm documentation, network diagrams, and configurations are complete.
  • Validate that monitoring, alerting, and support procedures are in place.
  • Conduct project closure, benefits realization, and lessons-learned reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance and network change control processes.
  • Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
  • Manage scope, risk, and impact assessments for planned changes.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, resource constraints, vendor delays, or service-impacting concerns.
  • Escalate critical risks to senior management and customer stakeholders where required.

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Degree or diploma in IT, Networking, or Project Management
  • Experience in delivery of Network Services Projects, which would include demonstrable knowledge of data circuit delivery, SIP delivery, number porting, iSIP, SBCaaS
  • 2+ years' experience in project management and latterly delivering network or infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to both customer-facing and internal IT environments
  • Familiarity with WAN, LAN, security, and connectivity services
  • Working knowledge of ITIL methodologies
  • Project methodologies(Agile/Waterfall) with preference for PRINCE2 certification
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Accreditation
  • Strong vendor and carrier management capability
