Job Description

Would you like to contribute to the logistics performance of world-leading customers and manage high-impact Service Projects in an international environment? Are you service-minded, commercially driven, and comfortable operating close to customers?

About the role

Vanderlande is looking for a Service Project Manager to manage Revision, Modification and Retrofit (RMR) projects for automated material handling systems within the food and retail market in France.

RMR projects are critical to keeping our customers' systems reliable, safe, and future-proof. As Service Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all project activities from sales handover through execution and final service take-over - often while systems remain operational. Each project requires precision, strong stakeholder management, and a hands-on mindset.

You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically ranging from €50k up to €2M, and act as the main interface between customers, internal teams, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

As part of the Project Management EMEA team, you are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of service projects:
  • Manage RMR service projects from sales handover to customer acceptance and service take-over
  • Act as single point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage the contract relating to the service project and negotiating variations with the customer
  • Prepare and execute the project management plan, including scope, planning, budget, quality, and risk management
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, installation, commissioning, IT, procurement, subcontractors)
  • Lead internal and external kick-off meetings and regular project reviews
  • Ensure strong financial performance: budget control, invoicing schedules, margin optimization, risks & opportunities
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and operational risks
  • Ensure Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards are fully respected on customer sites
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and further professionalization of the Service Project Management organization

About the team

The Vanderlande Warehouse Domain is active worldwide, designing, selling, delivering and servicing integrated solutions for a wide range of clients in food, retail, e-commerce, and parcel distribution. With a truly global scope and a fast-evolving market, strong business control and effective project management are essential to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.

Project Management within the Warehouse Domain is organized across four regional teams. You will be part of a strong and collaborative regional team focused on delivering complex warehouse automation projects across the region, while working closely with global counterparts to ensure alignment and effective worldwide cooperation.

What do we ask from you

You are a proactive, structured, and customer-focused project manager who feels comfortable working in complex, operational environments.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Écoles d'Ingénieurs), Business, or similar, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in service project management or project execution in a technical environment
  • Experience working in matrix and international organizations
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of project financials, planning, and risk management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Affinity with mechanical, electrical, controls, automation and/or IT systems
  • Background in automated material handling, capital goods, system integration, or industrial services is a strong advantage

Language & location requirements:
  • Native French (mandatory)
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Based in or willing to commute to Rungis, France
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites within France (±20-30%)
